Thanks for your reply. Yes, upgraded on the same Windows computer. Do I need to delete the current catalog that I guess I imported instead of converted in PSE 15 and then do the convert upload? Or can I just do File>Manage Catalogs>convert. I'm afraid I'll duplicate all my photos if I don't delete what I currently have in PSE 15; could that happen?
Don't worry, the main thing with the Organizer is that it is built around a catalog which does not contain any media files, just links to their physical location on your drive(s). Think of it as the catalog for a Paintings Museum: you get lists of the canvases in various sort order (author, theme, date, dimensions...), the rooms they are in, small images of the canvases. The catalog in the organizer is the digital version of those paper catalogs.
The organizer has a downloader module to let you retrieve the files from your camera or card reader. In that case, the files are copied from that device to your computer, and all the information about those files is written in the catalog (referenced, indexed). That's where there is a risk of 'importing' twice.
If you 'import' from files or folders, there is no copy on your drive only the 'indexing' job.
And if you 'convert' a catalog to a newer version, the Organizer just reads the contents of the old catalog and writes them in the newer one. It does not read your image files on the computer, only the catalog. Absolutely no risk of duplication and that job is much faster, especially for a big library.
