Issue:
My laptop crashes when using Premier Pro CC (2014).
Laptop specs:
MacBook Pro OS X, Version 10.9.4
Processor: 2.3 GHZ Intel Core i7
Number of Processors: 1
Total number of Cores: 4
Memory: 8 GB
Startup Disk: Macintosh HD
Details:
I was able to use Premier Pro fine and even exported a Quicktime video. However, with the next video project, my computer each time that I restarted my computer and reopened Premiere Pro. Each crash occurred progressively faster and seemed worse. The first time I made a video I was only using MOV files. For the second project, I had imported MOV files, an AVCHD file, and an m4a file. I was closed out of other programs except for iTunes and Safari.
FIRST CRASH:
Occurred after I hit CMD + U to create a sub clip. My computer screen turned light gray and appeared to be restarting, and after a few minutes, it restarted on its own.
SECOND CRASH:
Occurred after I reopened Premiere Pro (after the first crash), and I double-clicked on the same clip to make the sub clip again. The screen went blank with dark gray vertical lines. I couldn't do anything, so I held down the power button to shut down my laptop.
THIRD CRASH:
Occurred after I reopened Premier Pro. Once the all tabs opened, my computer immediately crashed. Same gray vertical lines appeared, but this time accompanied with a loud beeping sound (3 beeps, pause, repeat). I held down the power button to shut down my laptop.
FOURTH CRASH:
Occurred immediately after clicking on Premiere Pro icon. Immediately had gray vertical lines. I held down the power button to shut down my laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a RAM issue?
