DO you work with different layers? I would strongly recommend to move text in a separate layer above the layer with images or transparencies.
InDesign will rasterize only objects if necessary. Why should ID do it? Use correct file types which are AI, PDF, PDP and PSD and without transparency also JPG.
Don't use EPS or PNG.
