Before I saw this reply I noticed one of the FAQs on the web site gave the location of the preferences file and suggested that removing it will cause PS to generate a new default set. Because of your earlier reply I did this and it did indeed solve the problem.
Thanks to your second reply I now have a way to do this without hunting up the actual preferences file itself. Thank you for the information.
