Follow up question: Should I attempt to install the ASIO driver from
asio4all.com again or is there another ASIO driver that you recommend?
That is the one we recommend*. Your problem isn't an Audition one, and I don't think it's ASIO4ALL either - all that does is to provide a 'Windows-looking' output from Audition. Go to the sound preferences in your Windows control panel and make sure that the output you want to use is set as the default. In Audition, go to the Hardware preferences page and make sure that either ASIO4ALL is picked up, or that you are using the MME driver. You are unlikely to be able to hear material from both programs at once, but if you close one, the other should pick up the default. Windows can be a bit funny about this though - you may have to do some experiments.
*The reason for this is that you get much better analytics from it, so if you are having difficulty you can see from its control panel exactly what it's having difficulty with.
